Packer residing in Fute On fave, I am also a Police informer. On the 10th May at 11 am, in consequence of a conversation which I had with Inspector Perry, I went to Man sting Lane. I saw the 1st prisoner giving 10 cents to a constable Leyng Chim.
The last witness called with me. So our Hatton. I have never been in Gaol. I have no regular employment as a mat packer. The constable was not in uniform. The defendant gave him 30 cents and then the Constable was on day duty and the defendant gave him another packet. The money was for the constable not to arrest them for gambling.
To the Court. I do not know defendant. I have seen him giving money twice. Once was on the 10th and the other time 17th May. On each occasion, he was distributing money to a good many people; I cannot say whether they were constables or not.
Nicholas Perry recalled states: It was in consequence of what the last witness told me that I went to Man thing Lane. I went there in order to see whether money has been distributed.
No question.
Enquiry further adjourned to Tuesday the 13th June at 10 o'clock. Bail allowed with each defendant in two sureties of $50 each.
